Want to make inserting and removing your contacts second nature? Follow these helpful step-by-step instructions.
• STEP 1: Wash and dry your hands completely using soap and a clean towel.
• STEP 2: Rinse lenses using solution to remove dirt or debris. (You can skip this step with brand-new contacts that haven’t been worn.) Tip: You don’t want to mix up your lenses so remember to always insert and remove the lens for your RIGHT eye first.
• STEP 3: Put the lens on the tip of your index finger. Make sure the lens is not inside out by checking the marker if appropriate.
• STEP 4: Using your free hand, hold your upper eyelid in place so that you don’t blink.
• STEP 5: Using the free fingers of the inserting hand, pull down on your lower eyelid.
• STEP 6: Looking up, place the lens on the lower part of your eye.
• STEP 7: Slowly remove your hand from your eyelid allowing your eye to close for a moment.
• STEP 8: Blink a few times naturally, so that the lens centers.
• STEP 9: If the lens feels uncomfortable or irritates your eye, take it out and check for damage or debris.
* If the lens is damaged, then throw it away. Otherwise, use solution to rinse it and reinsert.
